2026 Treasure Hunt Team Instructions

You have been randomly divided up into teams of mixed experience members with at least one ride leader per team. It's an opportunity to get to know club members that you wouldn't usually ride with - so introduce yourselves.

Your task is to work out where the picture clues are located, devise a route to as many as possible within the available time, and take a photo of the team showing your team number. You will need to use your local knowledge to work out the venues.  Some of the clue photos have been doctored to make them less obvious. By way of a clue each location has an 'as the crow flies' distance from The Cricketers. Don't worry if you can't work them all out. Six to eight of the thirteen locations would be a good target to find. 

Plan your route so that you use quiet roads as far as possible.

Stay north of the Basingstoke canal, east of Pirbright, west of the A320 and south of the A30.  You will need to finish at the front of The Cricketers for coffee and cake by 11:45.

Ride at a pace so as to keep the whole team together and, because the teams are mixed, your ride leader will monitor how everyone is getting on and adjust the pace and distance accordingly. Communication is key!

Take a team photo before setting off and post it to the main Woking CC Facebook Page. Include the names of your team members so we know who's in each team. You have been given a team number. Make sure to show that clearly in every photo. At each location take and post another photo to include all team members (minus one so it doesn’t have to be a selfie). All venues have been chosen so that you have room to safely gather for the photo by the sign. Stay out of the way of any passing traffic!

You are allowed to use your search engine of choice to help solve the clues and to plan a route. Feel free to have a refreshment stop on the way round but remember... all your team members must be back at the Cricketers by 11:45. If you are late a point will be deducted for each minute you’re late – so don’t be late!  

The winning team will be the one that has accumulated the most points.

Keep an eye on the weather forecast and dress, hydrate and snack appropriately.

Remember there is room by all the locations to gather safely for the photo.  If there isn't room you're not in the right location. It’s not a race and above all... BE SAFE !!!
